PLease forgive me if this has been covered but i could not find the answer. I am looking into one of these units and was curious how much of a difference it makes to get the upgraded cable? It seems odd that they would not want it to sound its best right out of the box, so i just wondered if anyone had experience with this? Also, has anyone used this new unit? I like the idea of the pedalboard mounting but the increased range and frequency response.

I know most people seem to be happy with the $299.95 model. Did you read up on any opinions on the base model?

I've just purchased an XDS-PLUS and its on the Pedal board now. My BBE Supa-Charger only puts out a max of 200mA and the XDS Base calls for 300mA. The unit does work when powered with the 200 mA power supply.. but I'm wondering if this will damage the unit in the long run... I really don't want to start carrying around warts again...

Thinking of powering the XDS with a BBE Supa Charger too. Not too sure if there's an issue with underpowering the unit. I'm guessing some signal/range loss.

I think you should be able to power it via the BBE.
I power mine via the 5 or 6 output of my Voodoo Lab PP2. I think they're the ones made for higher voltage Line6 pedals.

Take a look at the SupaCharger manual, you should be able to power it w/o any troubles.

On the other topic, the stock cable is a joke IMO. I ordered a custom length cable with Neutrik jacks from Bayou Cables and it has been great.
