XLR output instead of jack

Suddenly I find myself in this scenario with my upright bass. I've started using a Countryman DI as a buffer preamp (for the piezo pickup) and the only way to get the buffered signal is thru the XLR out.

The XLR input on my Markbass amp head used to seem like a strange appendage. Now it has become useful! :)

Eventually, I'll probably get a different unit, though - one that's all 1/4". I don't care to be farting around with odd cables & adaptors when I use other amps.
