Early serial number Xotic XJ-1T 4-String. I picked this one out of a batch at the Xotic shop when I was doing some videos for them. Beautiful trans Walnut finish on a nicely figured ash body. It has the original Lindy Fralin pickups and the Xotic Tri-Logic preamp. The controls are the original vol, vol, tone with 3-band eq. The neck volts push-pull active passive and the bridge vol is push-pull series/parallel which give you a great almost P type of sound by making the pickups into a humbucker..very versatile. Later they changed to vol, pan, tone which this can easily be converted to if you wish. I personally always found the sound option very useful. It has the original ebony dots which I prefer to the luminous ones they later changed to as well. I haven’t used this bass much at all, I’m more of a P player when u have my choice or usually end up playing one of my 5’s. It’s 9lbs on the bathroom scale. Sound is amazing and very even. As I said, I picked this one out of a group of the same model. It’s in amazing condition with only some light swirls in the finish on the back and no dings dents or scratches at all aside from a small dent on the top of the neck at the edge of the fingerboard. Without taking it outside it’s hard to really capture the beautiful finish and wood grain on this bass.. I can’t find the link but if you search YouTube “Steve Millhouse with Xotic Bass (Performance 4) it’s a video of this bass. I don’t have the xotic gig bag, but I do have a quality bag I will send it in.
