XTI 2000 volume problems, help please!!!!

Hey I just got a crown xti 2000 in for my live rig, it consits of my custom simmons 6 string, going into an ampeg svp-pro preamp, I'm using the direct out to go to a bbe 882i sonic maximizer and having the signal go to the xti. I've got it set up with an 8 ohm cab so it should be running at 400 watts. the problem is it doesn't sound(or feel) like 400 watts :crying:. The setup I had before(gk 700rb-II) was so much louder, and it was at 380 watts. So I'm thinking, that it may be that my input signal is not hot enough. I'm also using a 4 conductor speakon cable, and it's not being bridged, could this be the problem? any help would be greatly appreciated, also is there any way to adjust the input gain through the crowns dsp, I havn't hooked it up yet. Thanks ~ James

i have both of those (SVP-Pro and an Xti2000, but don't have a BBE) and my SVP-pro has more than enough output to drive the xti. what are the xti's output meters reading when you crank it? have you tried driving the xti without the BBE?
you might also try running the xti in bridged mono to get more power, but make sure that the speaker cable is wired properly for it ( i.e. +1 & +2 on the amp end and +1 -1 on the speaker end), and set the dsp for bridged. BTW, you don't need to use the 'band manager' software to do that.

+ 1 on the svp-pro having enough output for almost any power amp.
PS Love your Amek Console mate, I had a couple of 9098 channel strips
and the EQ is really faffing great. Shame some bar-steward stole them along with loads of other good stuff.:ninja:

I've got the XTi 1000. I run one channel for a worship gig (275 watts into 8 ohms hydrive cab). I have the 482i BBE sonic running out of the effects loop of my preamp (Pod XT Pro rack unit) :bassist:.

In bridged @ 1000 watts, it's enough to hurt my intestines :D:D

Could something be taking place (i.e. loss of signal) when you run out of the balanced XLR of the BBE to the Crown?? I'm curious, because you should be slaying with that much power.

Try out of the effects loop and see if there is a perceived volume difference.
