Yamaha BB1200 pickup ring request

I recently purchased a BB1200 with no pickup ring. After searching for a replacement (with no luck), I finally found someone who can make one for me (Frets on the net). He needs exact measurements, which I also cannot find online. Can anyone either tell me where I can locate the specs, tell me where I can find an original/premade ring, or measure an existing one, if someone has a BB1200 handy. I had no idea this was going to be such a difficult task. Any help would be appreciated

Does this help? It's from my BB1200S, which I'm pretty sure uses the same pickup:

The distance along one long edge of a single pickup surround (the number under the E string) is 3 21/32" (I think), and along the short edge is 1.5" - together it's a bit less than 3" because they overlap in the middle.

John designed the BB1200 and did excellent pickup replacement work on them... He put an EMG PJ setup in mine in 1982... I still have it and won't get rid of it...

Thanks for the info. I just sent a e-mail to John Carruthers. I love this bass, and want to get that ugly hole around the pickup covered asap.

The BB1200 is one of the finest sounding instruments out there. Add the EMG PJ set up and you'll see why John Carruthers did the same for Lee Sklar, Bob Glaub and numerous others around L.A.

Precision killer was the nickname for the BB1200 in the eighties...

No dead spots, great sustain and the intonation is spot on!

I never thought that getting a pickup ring was going to be so difficult. After several "no's" (John Carruthers included), I finally made provisional arrangements with Chandler pickguards to make a plastic one, provided I send them the bass, which I have not been able to do yet. The picture with the measurements was of no help to anyone.

I can provide you a CAD Drawing from the one on my BB1000s. It would probably be best to measure and dimension the entire thing in metric since, I'm sure it was designed that way.

I'm busy with business now or I'd make you one. I wanted to make some brass ones to replace the plastic ones on my bass. I just don't have time right now.

Let me know if an accuate drawing would help.

I have been trying myself, with no luck, to find one for my BB300 project. I can't believe this is so difficult. The only thing I've seen is some chrome skull looking thing that occasionally shows up on ebay. Has anyone had any luck outside of custom pickguard makers?
