Yamaha bb2000s

Anyone got experience of a Yamaha bb2000s? It looks like it has active circuitry.

I don't know much about that model. I love yamaha basses in general, but I'm having a tough time seeing what element of that one commands that sort of price. 1200 bucks for a neck through active P bass seems pretty steep. I'm happy to be set straight of course.

They are sort of vintage now, and they were always very high quality, Japanese built basses.

I'm familiar with 1200s that Hooky plays, but I have never seen this model. It was never on sale in UK at least so just curious about this. It looks like some kind of early prototype to me?

It's been 2 years. Are you still interested?
I've had this bass for years. It came out around 1980 & they didn't make it long. Less than 2 years. It's got a passive pickup with an active 2 band eq. They call it short scale but it's actually between short & medium. 800mm or 31.5 inches.

A cpl months later. I just got one from Japan today, and it sounds exactly like the 1200s. In spite of the reversed pup, there’no audible difference to me. Mine is 093096 which is guitar no 96 made on Sept 3rd 1982. And it`s a keeper, (hate my keyboard!)

Got 2 of BB2000s. But i prefer Long scale passive BB2000.
