I have played a number of P's and none of them bring more to the table (either sonically or feel/mojo-wise) than my '77 Yamaha.

Yesterday I got to play a bunch of great basses including 3 Metros (Jazzes, which are of course flawless) and two vintage Fender Ps: a CAR 69 Invalid Link Removed and 76 burst [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] . Both were great feeling/sounding basses. The 69 was in good condition and was selling for just under 5K. The 76, although more reasonable, was still about 2K. Playability and tone wise, though, my BB is right in there.:)

I could probably get about $300 for the BB.:( This upgrade idea is sounding more and more expensive.:bawl:
