Yamaha BB605 or Fender MIM Jazz???

Hi there,

I am looking for a new weapon and these two basses come up on my mind. They are versatile basses and suit for music that i play like funk, jazz and rocks(sometimes). I love them both but i have to choose one over another. What do you guys think??? All opinions are welcome, please help me out!!!

Thank you Dr. Cheese!!! Someone said yammy's basses are ugly but i think they're unique. The thing that i like this model because for me it is a lower-end version of Nathan East sig lol. Anyway i do worry about the quality and playabilities cause i've never been played The yamaha before.

I like Yamaha's. Find there qiality to be surprisignly high for it's price point. I have 2 RBXa2's and love em to death. I've played the BB line and they seem to be built like tanks for the most part so I wouldnt think longevity will be an issue. I like Jazz basses but the MiM's are just Ok to me (I'd by one used before new).

Don't worry, the BB605 is very well made, and easy to upgrade.

I played a BB605 as my main/only bass for years. I put Bart pups and pre in and it was amazing. People still think it was my best bass - and I've had many since then. Sadowsky, Lakland, Modulus, Roscoe to name a few.

I almost bought one back. They are light, balanced and play wonderfully.

Steve, the one that got away is always the best! That Roscoe you have right now is a very sweet bass too!

Yeah, I was having minor electronic issues that I couldn't fix so I got rid of it. Dumb.

I do like my Roscoe. Best I've had of all of them - save maybe that fretless with the "JB" placement.

If I found another BB605 I'd probably get it. I love my Roscoe but as you know I'm thinking of going with a cheaper bass as I only play at church (and who knows how long that'll last) and I could use some reigning in and debt reduction.

If selling that Roscoe will actually solve your debt issues, you are in such good shape you may as well keep it!

Well, it would help get rid of one card, then I could concentrate on the other one. Roll the payment over, etc.

I'm totally spoiled by the Roscoe B string so if I sold it I'd probably go 4 string again.

We'll see. It's not like people are lining up to buy it anyway. :-)
