Yamaha DEQ-7

I always wanted a programmable EQ. A Yamaha DEQ-7 is available cheap-ish.

I assume it isn't great being a digital EQ from 1987 or so, but does anybody here have specific experience playing bass through it.

While I'm at it, programmable compressors are really not fashionable, are they?

I haven’t used that particular one, but I have used the later YDP2006 – several of them - and it’s a marvelous equalizer. I haven’t been able to find anything bad about the DEQ7’s sound quality (which is what I was searching for when I found this thread). The only account I can find about that said it was clean. Much as I loved the YDP’s awesome flexibility, I ultimately “downgraded” back to my analog graphic EQ. I decided I preferred to just be able to quickly grab a slider than do a bunch of button-pushing during a performance. But if you regularly perform in the same venues, being able to set up a curve in memory for each place and recall it would be fabulous.
