Double Bass Yamaha EUB endpin issues

I have read of other players who have done the same thing but in my case the threads in the end piece were stripped so I drilled the hole out slightly larger and tapped it.Then I cobbled together a new screw with a bolt and wingnut and it works great. There is a video of someone else who did more or less the same thing.I also put a small hose clamp on the post so that it takes the weight of the EUB and the screw keeps it in place and prevents rattling.Apparently the hose clamp is a common modification that many SLB200 players use and some use a rubber O ring or washer between the clamp and the endpiece but that didn't work for me,too much play made it wiggly.
P.S.You might want to post your solution on the Yamaha EUB Megathread.
