Yamaha Fan Club

Hello,

My name is Brandyn James, and I am starting a "fan club" for people that own Yamaha bass guitars. I have been thumpin' for a little over six years now, and I have owned quite a few basses (in my opinion) over the years. Some of which aren't worth mentioning (Squier by Fender Pete Wentz Signature), and others absolutely worth mentioning (Yamaha BB-N5A).

Now that I have introduced myself I would like to begin by listing my Yamaha BB-N5A (American Bartolini pick-ups, Aguilar OPB-3 preamp) as my entry into this Yamaha Fan Club. Please share your instruments (descriptions and/or pictures), and lets revel in the wonderful world of Yammy.

My first bass was a yamaha bb405 and I have a yamaha keyboard. recently, I've been interested in purchasing a yamaha trbx305. I tried one out a few months ago and I thought it sounded pretty cool. I also tried out the yamaha trbx174 at that time and I think that bass sounded pretty cool. anywho, I'll be saving my cash on buying one.

I was looking for a used passive BB5000 5 string for a while, but ended up coming across this BBN5 used/cheap and decided to try it.

I changed the original pickups out for Dimarzio Area J 5s (direct swap), installed new 500k volume pots, .022 tone cap, Jazz knobs, and a set of D'Addario EXLs.

Sounds and plays well so far, especially for an inexpensive bass. (My only 5 string right now)

A few years ago I found my BB5000 that I owned back in 1992.. When I owned it I changed the pickups to active EMG pickups.. they no longer work correctly.. they are so old EMG had no luck getting them back working correct. BUT I still had the original pickups and pots ect. Problem is I did lose the gold trim piece that goes around the front pickup. The inner shape of the EMGs were different so I had some custom made to keep the original look. OK
Question could someone please trace the original front pickup trim for me??? Or evene better anyone know where I could buy one?? thanks Eddie [email protected]
thanks you for your help..
