Yamaha Pacifica

This one ?

About Pacifica...I'm a big fan of the brand, but have yet to play a Pacifica that would inspire me. Obviously, YMMV.

Their SG and hollowbody series...now that's a whole different ballgame.

Happy hunting.

I’ve never tried out a Pacifica, but I’ve heard good things about them. I have hands-on experience with Yamaha’s Revstar II (RSS20 Standard Series w/ humbuckers). It is a super nice guitar and I am very tempted to buy one. I bet the MIJ Pro Series is even nicer, but the Standard Series is already a very nice, quality instrument, plenty good enough for me 👍

They are great and under rated guitars in their various price classes (from cheap all the way to expensive), but for a logical reason.
People don't like them because they completely lack personality and they look like cheap rip-offs, Also the nice expensive ones look the same as the basement models.
No one wants an expensive guitar that has the exact same look and headstock as the el-cheapo model.
For this reason, the nice ones can be bought at low prices.

Fortunately I'm in the first group and not looking for anything too expensive
It's more of a noodle toy and learn chords et al
Hadn't thought about the lack of personality, but then again at the $300 or so price points there are not a lot of wowser models or options

research online with the exact model number of the guitar. you may find that $300 is a lot for it.
I think that all the models are PAC_ _ _

My experience with Yamaha has been that they try really hard to build in a certain amount of quality to their entire line of instruments. Even their "value" lines.
Less sexy bells and whistles....more emphasis on playability.
Ive never played a Yamaha anything that was truly bad. Its the brand I often recommend to new players to insure they get a good instrument without busting their budget.

It's a pretty wide range with those. You can find a used base model for ~$100 or I guess they make one that's $3700. If you like Strat ergonomics it's hard to go wrong at a given price point with a Pacifica in my experience. Even the lowest models are competently made guitars that can play very well with a good setup.

I’m a long time guitar player and have multiple guitars including a vintage Fender, a Jackson, Ibanez, Schecter, etc.
Over the years I have owned instruments from most of the major brands. The guitar that I play the most often is my Yamaha Pacifica that I got used from guitar center when I traded in a bass amp and cabinet. I had enough store credit to get guitars that were 3 times the asking cost of the Yamaha…..but it played the best.
Is the Yamaha nicer than my most expensive guitars? No. But it’s a really good guitar and I don’t have to worry about any dings/dents. They are very underrated.
