That was pretty quick!
I chanced upon one in a Canadian guitar store a few years back. I love the thing! What a ''sleeper'' these are!
Here's my baby:

These basses are real true-hollowbody finds!
I love your bass! Your website was actually very helpful in my quest! Pleased to meet you and yes these things are real gems.
What do you string yours up with??
Thanks! I use D'Addario Chromes set ECB81 [This invalid link has been removed]
Have you seen the Dave Grohl-directed Sound City documentary? There's a sequence with Trent Reznor and Josh Homme working on something with a 'featured' bass line. They're using an SA-70!

Thanks! Yep, Sound City & the QOTSA DVD Over the years where Homme plays it live on stage is what turned me on to the SA70 sound. LOVE IT
Hello Guys, how are you?
first, thank you! this topic and the scotch's text really helped me pick this beauty.
I just bought this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Yam...9-/221451501491?pt=Guitar&hash=item338f89bfb3
it has not yet arrived but I got some questions. I could not identify the exact year of manufacture by serial number. Another thing is that the bass seems surprisingly new to an instrument of 60s or 70s. I do not think anyone would choose a bass with little demand to counterfeit. But thought worth asking for you who already have the SA70, it looks authentic? Under similar conditions is compared to yours?
thank you guys!
