Yamaha Sub-Kick

just curious, has anyone used or tried using a yamaha sub-kick to mic up thier cabinet?....i wouldnt mind getting a mic to blend with my di signal, i admit it'd look funny in front of my 2x15

does your cabinet produce the lows this mic is designed to pick up? why not just get an AKG D112, which would neither look funny nor be something your a guy had never dealt with before.

Exactly. If your speakers aren't producing the lows to begin with then there's nothing there for the mic to pick up. Your DI is undoubtably already sending a far more bottom rich signal to the board than what your speakers are capable of. Thos who use DI and mic feeds do so to send the colored midrange tones that the speakers provide to the mixer.
