Why the heck are you guys critiquing the good Dr.’s performance?

To be fair, that's Johnny Long, not the good Dr. Cheese.

I'd agree it's not Johnny's best performance. He just isn't his usual confident self.

I bought a '92 TRB6P several years ago for a jazz gig - just like that one, except in amber. Yes, the neck is wide, but nothing reasonably long fingers and a bit of technique can't handle. From the moment I plugged it in I thought "Oh yeah baby, this is it!". I usually run it with the pickup blend knob rolled ever so slightly towards the neck, and with bass and treble just past noon. I have it strung with Thomastic Jazz Flats, and it sounds wicked. It's one of those "I'll never sell it" basses. That said, I've not been playing it much of late, but anytime I need that low B, out she comes.

My first bass was a TRB-5P which I bought second hand from Rudy's in NYC back in 1996. When played solo it sounded pretty good, but I always had an issue with it cutting the mix. Sold it in 2001 after buying a Fodera MG and never looked back. The craftsmanship on that bass, though, was second to none.
