Yamaha TRB 6II battery drain issue

My TRB-6II seems to drain the batteries pretty quickly.
Any other owners have this issue? If not, how long does a fresh battery last?
Any common fix? I'm considering adding a switch?

I suspect it's draining even when the jack isn't plugged?

im assuming you do unplug it when your not playing?

sometimes batteries last months.. you may want to add an on/off switch.

Check your wires at the jack. Make sure everything including the grounds are done right.

Yep, I always unplug after playing.

The bass hasn't been modded as far as I know so wiring should be fine, right?

How do I go about checking the jack wiring?

Open up the plate in the back.

Meanwhile, you could try putting everything (all knobs) down to 0 when not playing. Might help (?)

Are you using NiMH batteries or standard? How long does the battery last on yours?

My TRB eats batteries too... I'll normally play around 5-8 hours a day and a run of the mill battery will last 2-3 months tops.

To add a switch do I just insert the switch between the red battery wire?:

If your batteries are dying, there's probably something connecting the circuit, usually in the input jack somewhere. If you can't find it, your local shop should be able to get it fixed in an hour or so.

When i had a TRB 6 II i think i used to change the battery every 2 or 3 months to, they eat battery pretty quick!

Are you using NiMH batteries or standard?

Try alcaline bateries not rechargeable ones.

I just recently got a Yamaha TRB 1006 and absolutely love it but I'm experiencing the same thing. I use Powercells and they last on average 2-3 weeks. I play on average 5 Church services a week plus rehearsals and practicing. This translates to 4.5 hours plug in time on Wednesdays, 6.5 hours on Sundays, 2.5 hours on Thursdays and I keep it unplugged at home unless practicing. In comparison the same batteries in my former Lakland 5501 and Conklin GT7 would last around two months. I'm pretty decent with electronics and can't find anything out of the ordinary. On the plus side, I don't have to pay for batteries as we keep a healthy stock for the wireless packs.

Hi guys,
I have the same proble , battery lasts one month even if I unplug the jack when I stop playing.
So, for those who changed the input jack, did it definetely end the battery drain issue ?
