Yamaha TRBX505 battery LED and power switch question

Does the LED light when the battery is low or is it a power indicator (LED on when power is on) ? I never see the LED is on.

Another question is there a power switch for the battery? Is it in the passive/active switch or in the output socket?

from what I have read the light comes on when the batt gets low warning you of impending failure.......

La batería se acaba en pocas semanas, leí que puede ser algo mal conectado en el jack

The LED indicator only comes on when the battery is getting low. And it only comes on when you plug in the cable, which turns on the onboard preamp.

Make sure the cable is unplugged, even when it's in the passive mode, when the bass is not in use; otherwise, the battery will drain slowly.

This doesn't sound normal. The LED light should come on only when the battery is starting to get low. I can usually go at least 6 mths, even longer with daily usage.

Are you making sure the cable is unplugged when the bass is not in use?

1. My LED remains always ON as soon as I plug the cable...regardless the battery is new or old.

2. I usually leave the cable plugged in as it's a hassle for the sound guys as they keep the signal running and my cable plugging / unplugging upset them. I have to request them to mute the channel as I have to plug / unplug the cable.

3. Any smarter way of handling this situation to prevent fast battery drain?

4. What battery brand do you recommend?

This is definitely not normal. Something is faulty.
