So I have now played a handful of gigs, pubs and theatres. I think I haven’t quite gotten the hang of the Yamahiko (dual element) yet, but I can hear that my sound will improve with trial and error. Using with a Tonedexter ii. The g string is much quieter than the other strings which is annoying, I guess using a single element on the g side might balance it out? The arco sounded fantastic in the theatre today, the pizz is a bit thumpy and sustains much more than what I’m used to. Also certain notes are ringing out more (tamed to some degree with the Tonedexter eq but you sort of need to be able to do multiple cuts per section (low/mid/treble). In the pubs I’ve had mixed success tbh, the small rooms pose bigger problems. But yeah, I need to sort the difference in volume on my G asap.
P.s. I tried it once with a trs with ring disconnected, (to access the 10Mohm on t Dexter )plugged it in and, yes more bass. Not sure I need more low end!
