Yay Wind!

We've had 3 power swoons today so far, most likely due to gusts of wind. What happens is the power almost goes out, but doesn't and goes back up. But everything turns off anyway. Things like my computer, the TV, etc. But the light just dims and goes back up again. It's frustrating because Firefox seems to just delete all my history and cookies, like which website's I've been to (so I can just type in 3 letters into the address bar instead of the whole URL) and whether I was logged in or not (i.e. no constant log in).

Sucks. But I guess it's better than a full on power outage.

I've never heard of that happening before.
Do you think it has to do with electrical wiring, maybe the wind forcing the wires to touch or get close?

Perhaps. I recall it happening before when it was windy, but 3 times in a day is a lot. Usually if that happens once, the power eventually just goes out or it doesn't repeat.

It is really windy down here too. I like when it is stormy.

Quit your complaining. It's windy here @ 95% of the time. It can't just be a little 2-3mph wind either. It has to always be 7, 8, 10+ mph it seems.

Blowing dust, tumble weeds, dry heat. Ugh, I really don't like it here.

Yee-Haw!!

The wind came and blew out our power for about an hour on Thursday night. My cable has been out since the big wind storm. It came on about an hour ago, finally!!! Just in time for football. But it was close!

Many people in my town still do not have power. We have some friends staying with us since their power has been out since Thursday afternoon, and no hopes of getting it back before Tuesday. We have an older couple that probably would have froze to death. The other folks are some dear friends I've known since I was about 10 years old.

Some friends of mine will be off the grid for a week or so! It blew 110+ mph in the Gorge Thursday night. We lost power for ~6 hours, but it turned out that we got off really easy compared to most of the towns around here.

Wow I forgot about this thread. That wind was kind of a sign of things to come, I guess.
