Yeah another help me identify these strings thread

I have to admit these kind of threads always drove me nuts when I read past them, but I actually really like these strings and they came off an MTD Kingston from 2007 and I feel they might actually still be the original strings. But I could be wrong. All the ball ends are the same colour (gold) but the weird thing is on the E string it looks like only the inner core wrap goes around the tuner. The second pic is clearer, and the reason I don’t think they’re MTD is because they don’t have the yellow wrap but this was an import so I’m really not sure.

So, they're roundwound with no silk at either end and all brass ball ends then?

It might help if you can provide a pic of the whole headstock and one at the bridge.

My guess would be they're cheap generic strings used as factory strings on some basses made overseas.

You could be very well right there, But I took them off the MTD and actually put them onto one of my other instruments and that thing just came alive.

At first, I thought they were Ernie balls, but I don’t remember Ernie balls tapering to the core around the peg on the E…

I think you’re 100% on this as I’ve never seen them before and I’ve went through quite a few brands of strings in my time
