Yeah the SVT is still worth its weight!

My SVT-CL had been collecting dust for months, left at home while lighter amps were hauled out to play. I'd even been thinking I might sell it since it wasn't getting much use. Then last night I decided to take it to rehearsal -- and damn! She's not going anywhere!

They are worth the weight, you can't beat that real svt tube tone. I went with Orange AD200B, cuts the weight in half with great tone to boot, not a SVT but good enough

What lighter amps are you playing?

Mostly my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 but sometimes my Markbass LMII. Both great amps and not going anywhere either, but the SVT has its own magic that I've decided I still need ... even if it inflicts bodily injury.

Picked this up a few months back. This Rig totally Kicks! Total cost $1700 and gas to meet the seller halfway. Barely used, in brand new condition with custom neoprene cases. Fits in a Subaru wagon to boot! I own a few other Rigs as well, some of which most likely will be up for sale. The SVT is the Cat's PJ's.

My reference amp; may not go out on gigs that often but great sounding signature tone

They aren't worth their weight when you have to take subway, bus, and walk to gigs

But for any other time, yes.

dang it, you guys are going to make me dig out my svt this weekend, aren't you? honestly, i did get a little sick of moving it, especially after i got that micro vr for christmas, but doggone it...it really does sound amazing.

Get a Peavey Classic 400 and work out with it for awhile and the SVT head will seem petite. The Peavey is a BRUTE - whether shredding a room, or your back. Sometimes I think they'd still be in production and high demand if they came equipped with casters and a pull-handle. But then, lifting it to put atop a 810, the dream vanishes with a poof.
