Yes, another one of those

I can hear a collective, "Oh, look, another guitar player trying to learn bass!" Yes, that's me. I've played guitar for over 35 years. Naturally, I've occasionally picked up basses and forced lead guitar on them, but that's not playing bass. As a bass student, I'm a novice, just trying to get those 2 fingers on my right hand to sound even. This is an entirely different instrument, and I want to devote the time and effort to learn it properly. So, here goes...

Welcome to our World. Yes, a lot of us did come over from 6 string guitar. It's different, however chords are chords and notes are notes. We just use them differently. Our goal is to be able to identify the active chord in the song and play notes of that chord - so we will sound good. How many notes? One per measure is all that is needed. Two will probably sound better and three are not necessary as one got harmonization.... Long story....
