Indeed they do. And book publishers IMO ill serve themselves in combatting the digital onslaught by raising their prices. But books have an organizing principle and fore- and after-matter that contextualize and help one navigate the main body of the text. The internet is like a bunch of books with the pages ripped out and scattered. Trying to track down the same information in discussion forums like this is like searching those scattered pages after they have been passed over by a lawn mower.
I prefer books for topics I take seriously. If you write one on DB identification, I will buy it.
