"Yin&Yang" guitar/bass build

No, never seen that bass, I googled his name, it does look alot like mine and I see where you come from.
It's alot like it indeed.
I Think we both had the same source off inspiration, a Danelectro Longhorn.
That's what I wanned to do , take a Danelectro Longhorn into the extreme, and I saw that in a piece of scrapwood I had.
But that is one beautyfull instrument from David king.
Like the style very much.

Almost there.

The electronics cavity was abit of a hassle, the place where the jack comes should have been wenge, what was there originaly from the neck, but that was to thin and came out in pieces, so I cleaned it up and glueed in a piece of yellow heart that yet has to be finished shaping.
I want to do that when I have the cover made.
Have to do that also.
After it is realy finished, I will give it a nice sanding and finish with tung oil, it has one layer off tung oil on it now.

I have played it already, wanna to hear how it sounds.
It has a nice deep bright tone and a nice long sustain.

beautiful. i don't post a lot, but this is worth it.

Thank you!

The guitar is still not finished, I have been working on another bass.

I made a thread about it but can't find it anymore.
Its walnut with a maple top and a yellowheard neck with carbon rods in it.

This one is also almost there.
It's the successor for my first build, same specs, only nicer woods and better build.
My first bass.

here's your other thread: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f57/4-string-walnut-bass-806897/

I had the same problem, started a thread and could not find it, but someone showed me, you just search for your own username and when you find it, click on "show all threads started by user" and it brings up the list. Couple of interesteing instrments you got going there!

Thank you Praxist for that link.
And thanks for the compliment about my builds.

Currenly I'm in a flow with drawing new designs.
Can not build the same bass over and over again.
Bought a couple of scratchbooks, A3 sized and trying to come up with the ultimate bass, the bass I always wanted.
The problem is, that I don't know how that bass looks.
I'm sure I know when I see it.
I have this huge piece of purple heart, about 5x20x150Cm. and want to make a purple heart body, with a wengé or maple neck.

The piece of purple heart, with some maple neckblanks..

This is one of the latest drawings I made.

The same trick with some lacewood.

This is a blurry pic of a nice piece of maple, with a curly bubinga top next to it.

Anoter curly bubinga top.
I'm thinking about making this piece of maple into a semi acoustic single cut 6-er, with a bubinga top.
That would make it a 6 cm. thick beast.

Well then...
Here's some pics off the guitar part of this build.

The neck roughly cut and the fretboard glued on.
