Looking for opinions / advice:
I'm a BG player who has recently (about a year ago) seen the light and started playing the DB. I have a Yorkville 200B (that's the old 1x15" combo) that I've used with BG for the last 15 years and that suits my needs fine BG-wise but that sounds muddy with my Realist-equipped DB (most likely because of the input impedance of the amp). I've read reviews on different forums and the GK MB112 appears to be a good amp for both BG and DB, and I'm considering to part with my Yorkville to get a GK combo.
Questions:
-Could I get a decent DB tone with the Yorkville if I use a preamp, or will the 1x15" always sound bad? If yes, any recommendations? (I'm outside of the US so I can't get the Francis Deck preamp, otherwise I would already have one).
-What resale value could I possibly get for the Yorkville (it is in great condition)?
-For other doublers: how does the Yorkville compare to the GK in terms of tone with a BG? (I have a G&L 5 string w/ active pickups) - in other words, do I run the risk of missing my old amp's tone if I get the 1x12" equipped GK?
