Yorkville XS400 settings?

Here's a real good question: Anyone know what frequencies the EQ controls on the head adjust?

I haven't been able to find that information anywhere! The XS400 has a sort of boominess that I can't seem to EQ out, and the preamp tube has to get warm before it sounds real good, but once it's cookin,' it's great.

I can't seem to find any of these heads. I want an 400 or an 800. If I find one what would be a good price? Anyone had any problems with theirs?

WOW! Last Saturday (Oct 4) I used the XS400 I was thinking about buying from my friend. It changed my "thinking about buying" to bought it! I loved everything about it. I was really impressed. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, "I had a really nice Ampeg rig", but all of the varieties of sound and tone I got from the XS400 was amazing! I ran it through a Hartke 4X10 & Hartke 115 XL Series cabs. It's most deffinantly a winner!
I am officially in the Yorkville gang!....Well, at least I hope so. Rock on!

www.traynoramps.com Check the website out bro. I printed the whole owners/users manual out and put it in a binder. In the back of the manual there are about 6 or 7 different examples of ways to eq the amp to get certain desired sounds and tones. I like a few of them. Hope it helps!

Resurrection! I bought mine new, so I have the manual and all the presets. My question was: What frequencies do the EQ knobs control?

I'd love to remove some of the boominess from this amp; I just dropped a JJ ECC83S preamp tube in it last night, and heard no real discernible difference. I read in another thread that this particular tube helped an XS800 owner make their amp much nicer sounding, so I thought I'd give it a try here, though the 800 has a tube/ss pre, and the 400 has only tube.

I boost 5db in the low mids and cut 5db in the high mids. The rest is flat, scoop off, comp off. Swapped the Sovtek for a Tung Sol. Sounds like God.
