When....Only 2 get to go to the gig..... The others have to wait patiently for their turn to be used during rehearsal or jamming at home. Other wise purely wall decoration as some have been with me for 40 years.

My wife gave up asking.

I have a client in Nashville; he also has a house in L.A., he does film scores...

He uses a bar code system to keep track of his instruments/amps/effects/etc... he has several hundred guitars & basses and is unbelievably OCD (I mentioned that I really liked playing a tele that he had and he got a little upset that I played his guitar).

..you need to start/keep a spreadsheet to monitor which strings and when you changed them on your bass guitars.... getting old sucks sometimes...

I did that years ago with guitars & my one bass--and I mostly played my Ibanez Iceman--and a bit of bass.
