Actually, that's either Georgie or John playing the Fender Bass VI, although I don't recall exactly which.

"Taxman", to my knowledge(which ain't much) is Paul both on bass & solo guitar.
IMO, the bass sounds like McCartney; I haven't heard enough of Harrison on bass to even have a feel for what he sounds like.

FWIW, Ian MacDonald's Revolution In The Head lists McCartney as bassist on "Taxman".

I don't think McCartney re-did the bass track for Naked...so-
It is Lennon on bass. In fact, the tune featured only its writer(Paul) on piano/vocal with John on bass; it was only a demo until...Spector arrived on-scene.

George Martin called Lennon's bass playing on "The Long & Winding Road" 'musical sabotage'.

Ian MacDonald went into even more detail(in Revolution In The Head; p. 297 footnotes)-
"Recurring wrong notes at 0:28, 2:10, & 3:07; mis-strikes at 2:39, & 2:52; drop-outs at 2:59 & 3:14; a fumble at 0:19; a vague glissando at 1:03; a missed final push at 3:26(One can hear McCartney grin at his partner's incompetence at 1:59)."

...ouch.

I wish my screw-ups could make as cool of songs as that (my favorite song from "Let It Be (and Naked)". Though that explains why I've been having a hell of a time trying to figure out what was going on there. Thanks for the info. :)

I like The beatles and when i see those live concerts from the 60s when Paul performes songs like she's a women and Im down and I saw her Standing there it looks so easy for him to play and sing at the same time.

It always looks like paul is singing and playing and "flirting" with the grils at the same time.

He looks so damn cool when he plays his bass.

On one of those recent Beatles' DVDs-
McCartney is playing "I Saw Her Standing There" & it was downright painful to watch. He was not into the economy of motion thing(yet).

I've never seen Let It Be, but I have seen the 'bed' track of this being recorded (or a very similar take) and I'm pretty sure it's on Anthology. FWIW the bass is a Fender VI and George and Ringo are both present and playing.

From my understanding, Naked has NO OVERDUBS (as the "Naked" is to imply, no covering up), just overdubs removed and a lot of Protools work. They digitized all the sessions, and cut and pasted as necessary, so the initial Let It Be album bed track may not necessarily be the bed track you hear on Naked. As such, you may be hearing parts of 7-8 different takes grafted into the songs.

"Rain" & "Paperback Writer" are McCartney.
This is about the time recording the bass 'properly' began.
;)
IIRC, "Rain" had a detuned bass(down a step?) & was then 'sped' up to "G".
Some of The Beatles/Martin's experimentations with recording, IIRC.
