Your favorite pedal for slapping?

Anybody uses some effects while slapping and if so : Which one do you like the most? I think Chorus always does the trick for slapping (my opion )

Current favorite slap set-up:

My Jazz sounds great with just the LMB-3 on. It litterally shines when I add the Stereo Chorus. For different tones, I'll alternate between the Phase 90 and the BEF, sometimes with the chorus ON. If I feel really kinky, everything goes ON.

I bought a comp (Aguilar TLC) just for evening out the difference between my fingering and slapping volume (the latter being a bit quieter) and evening out the volume of my slapping *just a bit*.


That and a filter. Neck pickup and light chorus for a bit more 80ies sound.

I tried it a long time ago with an EHX Memory Toy, on a slap-back delay setting and was not impressed. But I have a DD-7 on loan, so I'll run it through that on its shortest delay and report back.

Live, I think that it would muddy things up too much for 99.99% of the little crappy rooms I play in. In the studio, this can work great though.

I pretty much only use some light compression. I have a Vox Snake Charmer compressor pedal, and I'll toss it on about as light as I can in the few instances where I slap. Otherwise, sometimes some Bassballs, but that's rare. Usually, it's totally clean.

That is currently the best way to get one right now. There are some issues with the current manufacturer that are getting ironed out, as well as the fact that there is a waiting list for them.

Something like a sonic stomp would give you a good slap sound. It may be artificial sounding to some but it makes a solid mid scoop with mega punch.

I like my bbe sonic stomp with everything. More than anything with slapping. Little bit crunch from green rhino and wah from ehx enigma. That's just about my slap sound.

BBE Optostomp - it's great to have slap volume the same as finger volume.
