Given my TB alias I didn't want to just fanboy out and list all Descendents rhythm sections (although I agree) so I chose the one that spans both bands

Watt/Hurley was an unintentional omission. I'd put them there too for sure. And while we're at it, Norwood and Fish from Fishbone.

Yeah Fishbone is great. For anyone who doesn't know they are like a cross between Bad Brains, Old school Chili Peppers, and Living Color.

I swear I would still buy all Pantera records if it was just drums & bass. Even with their big success as a band I think it's a hugely underrated combination.

I think that some of us, as bassists, are simply drawn to bands that have excellent drummer/bassist combos (which, for all intents and purposes, ARE the rhythm section in the guitar-bass-drums-vocals paradigm of most rock music). That is certainly the case in the bands I listed.

This is the first I thought of and you beat me to it. Then I started thinking more about it and a huge flood of absolutely great rhythm sections nearly bowled me over. The more I think about my record collection, the more I realize just how many great rhythm sections there are/were.
Any of the posts before this one prove my point: Watt/Hurley? Sklar/Kunkel? Insanely good! If I tried to make a complete list I'd wear out my keyboard.
