Me too. The only reason I don't still prefer them is because changing batteries is a pain and active electronics are wasted on me, but I have them in 4 basses (albeit none I use regularly anymore) and they sound great to me.I guess I'm in a small minority, but I really like the tone from EMG PJ pickups.

Sorry, but this is the greatest slap tone known to man. Not a whole lot of camera time for the bassist, but see if you can recognize the sax player.
Jimmy...I see you are a lover of 'old school' slap bass tones.
You might enjoy this one as well (Jazz with front pickup dimed...me thinks)
Mark King could make anything sound great! One of my top three favorite players. I actually like his slap tone with the Goodfellow basses better -- see here:

I heard somewhere on talkbass that it has EMGs in it.
