your favorite slap tone

I have consistently prefered the slap tone from Jazz and Jazz-like basses. Marcus, Will Lee, etc...
I did recently see a Meshell Ndegéocello video with Kat Dyson on bass playing an MTD and it sounded awesome!

Me too. The only reason I don't still prefer them is because changing batteries is a pain and active electronics are wasted on me, but I have them in 4 basses (albeit none I use regularly anymore) and they sound great to me.
Jazz bass with both pickups wide open and SR5 (ceramic); both killer slap tones in the right hands!

Sorry, but this is the greatest slap tone known to man. Not a whole lot of camera time for the bassist, but see if you can recognize the sax player.

Ya, either that or a Precision, no doubt. That's why I laugh at people who say you can't slap on a Precision. Of course you can!
Yes, the Status Basses Mark plays seem a little more metalic sounding. That may be the carbon fiber necks. The GB is more of a straditional Jazz Bass type of tone. I would love to get a GB Standard Bass here in the US. I played one in a Music Shop in Barcelona, Spain. SWEET BASS!
