Richard Patrick- just a great rock vocal; makes the supergroup Army Of Anyone awesome.

Patrick Manohan (sp?) - before Train turned into s dreck band. First album was great.

Gordon Downie (RIP) - Hit or miss, and his style was unique to be sure, but it worked for me as long as he wasn't doing any "yelling" songs.

Apparently I like rock singers. I need tension in my music; I am not moved at all by clean precision and perfectly centered notes.
