Hi Vbass,
I've used the Antiquity II extensively as well as the DiMarzio 123 aka Model J. Also played the Nordstrand NJ4 a fair bit.
The NJ4 are the most balanced and traditional sounding. I think they're better for passive than the NJ4se.
Antiquity II have a very big tone, but because of that perhaps not the most balanced.
Model J have a few config options the others do not, and so more tones. I can't hear David's clips right now, but I'm guessing if they sound thin at all then his were probably wired traditionally ... and maybe your computer cannot reproduce their massive "UNNGHH!" But if they sound too thin that way, wire both as humbuckers and then perhaps go series to boot and I can assure you they are in no way thin. Big lows, solid highs - maybe not suitable for the "airy" "glassy" crowd, whatever those things mean ... but I mean that even the highs have some punch. Mids quite growly and punchy.
If I gave you a copy of a studio and/or live album titled "STOKE" then that's Antiquity II p'ups in a MIA Jazz in parallel.
If you want to hear the Model J p'ups, did I give you an album by "RossVegas"? If so, I used it on a few tunes and if not let me know and I'll link some clips.
Alternately, you could borrow my '74 J or we could pull the p'ups to try in your Geddy but it's currently seeing regular duty in yet another new band so I can't let it go for too long.
I rec'd your PM and will forward the email address of the space rock jammers later.
