I am thinking about buying a solid amp that is going to last me for a while and the AG500SC is in my top 10 right now, how do you like it?

You all gig with NO road cases?

No, but I do like how beat up my big 2x15 has gotten without one! The metal grille is sturdy & the drivers have held up well to the crazy environments they've been subjected to (Eminence Kappa Pro's).

top case is my pedalboard and bottom case contains a Fender 300pro...

If I was touring, or having many other people handle my gear, then I'd have cases for my cabinets.

As it is, I'm loading and unloading all by myself. I know how I'll handle my gear and keep it safe. I'll also know that if I ding my cabinet it's my fault alone.

Also, adding the weight of a case to an already-heavy cabinet makes it harder to get in my truck.

/jealous of your case.
