I saw that and think it's a gorgeous bass...sure, wounded and all, but still...I'd buy it for the right price and either find a way to rehab the body or maybe play it the way it is...

Couldnt you just cut the body clean on both sides and glue on new sides just shave enought off each side to wear its clean and level, than clamp and glue and do a cheap reranch refinish

i think if you had the knowledge time the bass and around 60$ for paint , glue & wood you could make it playable and decent looking i dont have those skills but some people with some scrap wood and clamps sure could do it

Why re-ranching ? Repair by gluing wood and shaping it to match the original body contour, play.

Because if you repair it there is going to be more finish loss and new wood hanging out on both sides , plus glue marks etc. In my eyes while its all apart and you took all that time why leave 50% off the body without paint and show repairs might as well do a decent 30$ re spray.

Just because the owner didn't have one to prevent the damage, it can still be used to hold it all together.

Sort of like a bass version of "The Visible Man"
