Nice job by the Sox finally getting a few runs off a Tiger starter.

I loved the look on Koji's face after the last out - usually he bounces off the mound with a big smile, but last night you could see that he was physically and mentally exhausted and it was more a look of relief than anything else.

Buchholz has the ability to match Scherzer the way that Lackey kept up with Verlander in Game 3; the question is will he execute.

I have to say that the Detroit players are growing on me - seems like a great group of guys. I knew Martinez was from his time in Boston; but I'm enjoying the mid-game interviews with Scherzer and Verlander. I mentioned Hunter before and he continues to say and do the right things.

Forget the National League - I want these teams to play a best of 14. :D

Man,watching that game last night I really think we (Sox) missed the boat on Iglesias. That kid is the total package. He can field, hit, and runs every base like he just stole something. He is going to go down in history as one of the greats if he keeps playing like he is now, and (God forbid) matures and gets even better. Verlander has a career waiting for him in TV whenever he is done. He is just a slick speaker and seems like a guy you would want to know.

I agree with your last sentence as well. I could watch these two teams go at it for a month.

Dude, don't you know we Cards fans humblebrag and everyone hates us for it? That's not very humblebraggy of you there.

I'm cracking up at all these articles about hating on the Cardinals and their fans.

According to the WSJ, we're the least hateable team left in it, so that's cool.

Ya, people hate us like we hate Yankees fans. Two good friends moved to Long Island and the actually found a pub for cards fans, nothing but red on game day!

Iggy will be a fine mlb shortstop and he has the best glove since Ozzie Smith and that was a great trade for the Tigers; however, Bogarts could be a Nomar or even a Jeter level player. You have to give up something to get something so I'm ok with the deal, I'm not sure the sox make the playoffs without Peavy and they have him for another year.

Stoked for the '04 rematch. This time without 'roids.

(Clearly not bitter about it. At all.)

My gf is a BoSox fan so it's gonna be a rough few weeks in our place.

I have many friends in mixed marriages - sox -yankees. If that can work, your relationship should be ok.

'04 made up for '46 which I wasn't around for. This year will redeem '67 which I do recall. Maybe next time.

Here's a question. The wife and I are scoping out tickets for one of the early games. Being Sox fans, we have been to Fenway before. I'm leaning towards wanting to catch a game in STL. I have a great uncle there with a nice penthouse right at the arch. What do you guys think? Would the experience be better at Fenway or should we try out a new stadium? There will be plenty of both fans at either so I'm not worried about that.
