Your moment of infamy

The one my friends rip on me for was I was drinking at my friends house party and killing everyone at fooseball. Absolutely murdering everyone! (keep in mind, we are poor high school kids at this point. Old English 40oz's and bong hits were my downfall that night) so this girl challenges me to a game and just kicks my ass, not even close.

This is the day I stopped drinking Malt Liquor. I swore that poor girl up and down, called her every name in the book and then some. Telling her she was the love child of a rapist and a prostiute, who should have been aborted. Horrible stuff. She ran out of the house crying, I was pretty proud of myself (at the time) and everyone being 17 and drunk, they all thought it was funny too.

Karma kicked my ass with the worst hangover I have ever experienced in my life the next day and I felt horrible for what I did to her. Ended up running into her about 10 years later and she had no idea who I was. After I reminded her of my idiocy years before and her boyfriend nearly introducing me to the floor, I bought them lunch and apologized about 1000 times like we Canadians tend to do. Now it's funny to us, but a small part of me will always feel bad.

I work for a cable tv company and we had a server which served cable boxes.
The server clock would drift,(this was like 15 yrs ago- no gps) so every week the clock needed to be set to the current time.
A typo changed the year and when I hit return( and a couple of milliseconds of terror realizing what I had done) and 20,000 cable boxes went dead....this was like 4pm on a Friday afternoon...
Had to call main operation center to have them remotely reboot all of the settops after the year entry was corrected....took about 40 looooong minutes.....

I got arrested while surrounded by a dozen PoPo cars after a day-long, citywide manhunt. I pointed my cell phone at them (hoping suicide by cop would result) and heard "Drop the cell phone!" One copper had a crazy eye looking over the sights of a shotgun and I asked "Are there beanbags in that?" He said yes, so I hit the pavement. I wanted to die, not get bruised up.:p

I only got charged with a DUI, but I should've been charged twice because I was sum mashed.

I remember one of those moments when I put my mouth in gear before I engaged my brain. We were waiting in line to see a play when a friend walked up with a short skirt on. She was wearing stockings that made her legs looked pink. This is also a women with an ongoing struggle with her weight. For some reason the color of her legs reminded me of pork chops. ...... Oh yes I did .....Not thinking I said "You look so cute, your legs look just like pork chops." To her credit she just stared and didn't say a word. I noticed everything got real quiet around me. She was a friend for many years and never bought it up.
My wife hasn't forgotten though. She still teases me about it.

I was at a party once and asked this girl why she was drinking a beer if she was pregnant. Then found out she wasn't pregnant.

so - i was traveling through Europe, and ended up staying on a remote farm with very eccentric hosts for a few weeks- doing bit of a work trade for room and board. One of the jobs i needed to do involved a weedwacker, so they guy took me around to the garage to get it. He said it was very finicky, and wanted to make sure i could start it, so he showed me how, turned it off and gave it to me. I'm sure you can imagine that this isn't going to end well, but probably isn't going where you think it is.

So, he gives it to me. Because i'm an excellent student, i do everything exactly as he did. Exactly. One thing he did, which you never should do, was start it while holding the thing firmly against the ground. He got lucky, i guess, but when i turned that sucker on, the cord caught a few pebbles and sent them flying across the driveway. I was too proud of starting the "finicky" weedwhacker on my first try to notice that the pebbles had shattered the driver side window of the car parked on the other side of the driveway. It wasn't even their car - it was a friend who was out of town and had loaned it to them for a few days.

We went back to tell the girls with big sheepish grins "something incredible has happened..."

oops! :D

I clogged a public toilet in college once. Overflowed it. Yup, one of those high-pressure flushing commercial ones. Don't ask me what I ate the night before to manage that.

Hit the flush lever, and next thing I know there's water creeping up to edge of the bowl, along with its, uh, "contents". Luckily there was no one else in the restroom at the time, so I bailed out (pants and underwear around my ankles :D) to a stall on the other side of the room to finish my, you know, uh, hygienic procedures...

Just as I close the door, a group of guys walks in and I hear, "what the ****?". I calmly leave the stall completely stone faced, pass the growing creek of sewage on the floor, and wash my hands. As soon as the door shuts behind me, I take off and run like hell.

Don't know what happened after that, other than the place was still "closed for cleaning" when I passed by an hour later.:hiding:

Hmm, might have been the time when at a friends birthday party I got drunk and climbed on top of a tourist attraction and stripped to song I sang myself. She was amused. Theres tons of photos of a stripping weirdo in Japan I think.

Strangely, the police never came around!

About two years ago I was at one of my companies facilities in Saudi Arabia working for a couple of weeks. A good friend is a German stationed at that facility and we have a history of playing jokes on each other. On my last day there, which was a Wednesday (Saudi Friday) he had left early but did not logout of his laptop. I noticed this and changed the screen saver to a pic of the Israeli flag, logged him out and went to catch my flight.

If you don't know, a Star of David is strictly prohibited in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You can be severely punished if anyone sees it and reports you.

There was one thing that I did not know. My buddy had a dog and pony show for a Saudi prince that Saturday.

I get a call at around 1am Saturday with my buddy cussing me out in a mixture of English and German. Apparently, the screen saver activated during a slide show that he was giving to the prince. The prince along with his cronies made a big stink, but let him off with a warning because the prince had been schooled in the US and understood practical jokes.

The Mutawa followed my friend for 3 months after that. He's still pissed about it.
