It's a custom neck-thru from about 20 years ago.Pardon my ignorance, but what is that second bass?

It was a plywood P that I reshaped with an angle grinder and covered with torn brown paper bags dipped in clear polyurethane.

Ultra Jazz in Middle was the most expensive.
Parts P on the right was least. Cost me around $450 to put it together. Pickups and bridge were the most expensive parts. Super light, great sound and fun to play. I got lucky with the neck. It is a J neck that someone put a P decal on and it feels good.
What's the story on the White Jazz bass?
I love stories like thismy most expensive bass was my DB, but I no longer have it. So, based on the current inventory, my most expensive bass is the 5 string Squier Jazz, at $249. My least expensive is one I bought off Amazon: A "Safeplus" 4 string P bass. Got it new for $65. I immediately replaced strings with La Bella 750N, the pups with real Fender classics, and still have under $200 into it. It's my favourite and most played bass. It's the one I usually gig with. You can see by the picture, I changed the knobs, it has nylon flats, and no brand name on the headpiece.View attachment 4291061
