I'll second or third the Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-10t. Not because I'm an endorser -- I bought the combo plus its matching extension before becoming an endorser -- but because it works great for both upright and slab. I do like a preamp or something to help match the output impedance of my Underwood, but I also find that my Boss TU-2 tuner pedal with its 1 megaohm input impedance works well enough.
And I find it to work great with electric as well. And with the matching extension, I've used it for semi-loud electric blues gigs with no problem.
Lots of other good suggestions in this thread too. This is just the one that I have direct experience with. I would recommend trying as many options as you can and see what your ears tell you.
