Man, what a change our pedalboards have gone through right? Post your first ever pedalboard creation and then your recent. Even if you started with multi-effects first.

    Started off with this

I think I've only taken pictures of my pedalboard twice. It has changed so many times. In fact, I'd be embarrassed if I did have pictures of all its iterations. I've said this before, but I really don't get a lot of enjoyment out of trying out a million pedals. I really do wish I could find exactly what I want and stop looking. But the problems are (1) the bands I'm in/what I want to do musically changes and (2) I'm just way too picky. Especially when I'm not gigging much and have downtime to spend being super critical of my gear.

That said, I dig these threads when other people do them. Especially because I think most people in the effects forum get more enjoyment from building their boards than I do.

I get too much enjoyment out of it. Like....when people try to go cheap with their pedalboard at my job, I kind of get mad at them....:ninja:

While my 1st pedal was the Zoom 506 (v.1) many years ago This was my 1st stompbox and what got it all started.
    DSCN0858.gif

Got the Sansamp and wanted a pedalboard so started collecting cheap used pedals to fill up the real estate. Also traded the Q-Tron for the Synth Wah.
    DSCN0995.jpg

The Synth Wah is 9v as opposed to 24v and a little more up my alley. Lost money in the deal but oh well.
    DSCN1226.jpg

Got a decent working rackmount preamp thus no longer needed the Sansamp traded it for the Toadworks Redux.
    DSCN1308.jpg

Got a good deal on the Boss SD-2 and liking it a lot.
    DSCN1745.jpg
I do miss having the three channels of the BDDIP so I figured with the FS-5U I could have a facsimile of the Sansamp BDDI Programmable.

Still have the Nano Clone and the ToneDriver. Currently at the rehearsal space for the bandmates to noodle with.

I remember your early board, missing that sonic stomp yet? You usually miss those types of effects after you sell them. lol

Started it all with this big muff.
    CIMG0517.jpg

Went through all these figuring out what I wanted.
    IMGP2392.jpg

Sold all those, and got my self a pedal carpet.
    CIMG0484.jpg

Got a DC brick, built a wooden stand, and got a phaser.
    PA310925.jpg

Got some ass, and a carbon copy.
    CIMG0623.jpg

    Got a pickle pie, and a G5. Didn't like the G5.
    P1031111.jpg

Got my gemini form Os. I think I'm happy, but I still have plans. I want to add another envelope, I think I want to change the wah to a wilson freaker wah, I want to get a whammy, and/or a micro pog, and get a sample and hold. Maybe a bass murf too.

It wasn't the start, but I started with photos back in April of last year. That's a GGG-tuned Big Muff, probably right after I put it together.

    3197653611_4349a32036.jpg

Three new ones. The Boss gear was temporarily off.

    3198500594_694a63bc51.jpg

Double the delay, double the fun.

    3197653957_19173eb791.jpg

    They finally get a board.

    3198500308_3722440079.jpg

Goodbye BDDI and Clone Theory, hello VT Bass, Micro POG, Wilson Effects 12-position Bass Q Wah and Woolly Mammoth clone.

    3032590579_b3819c2b22.jpg

And the board will change this weekend if my parts arrive. Until then...

Hard to say. I heard the difference and to me it was just added bass. I can eq that in on my preamp. I realize that it isn't a glorified eq pedal, but tangibly that is what it seemed like. If anything I might get a Rack Mount Sonic Maximizer just to plug up that hole.

  11. Started with this:

    AX3000B_top.jpg

Now on permanent loan to a guitarist.

Now, I have: Demeter Compulator, Xotic Bass RC Booster, Turbo Tuner, VT Bass and Aphex 1402. VT Bass and 1402 are on the way out, next on the way is Barber LTD SR and Diamond Compressor modded for bass.

I like individual pedals a LOT better.

  14. Then this (thought I would save some bandwidth by using Chronicle's pic)
    DSCN0872.jpg

That worked really well until I moved from hard rock to a more blues/jazz/funk thing. No funk in a ME-50B. First came the Micro QTron, then the HOG. And a small stone. Then a DOD distortion. Then a mixer. Then the Dano. Then the Holy Stain. Somewhere in there I put it all on a board.
    mixer.jpg
    powerJPG.jpg
Then I got a Metaphors without testing it first:rollno:. And a PP2+(if you run a normal daisy chain cable off of the two high outputs of the pp2+, you can power a HOG). Also TBP modded my DOD.
    0927081055.jpg
Picked up an acoustic DI for $30. That experiment was short lived. Works pretty well by itself, doesn't play well with others.
    Boardwkids.jpg
Finally picked up a BSW for $20:hyper:, the new hot TB looper/ blender/ buffer, and an English Muff'n (I love this thing). I am pretty happy with this right now. If I make changes it will be a clean boost for the ODB-3, a BMS for the Q-tron and BSW, and add a Worm or some other fine modulation in the HOG loop.

Just two dudes with good taste. :D I should have a Brassmaster clone complete soon and I'll be adding a filter later as well. That will be even more similar. Though you have CC and SMMw/H backwards. ;)

Yep, much cheaper than buying the real thing, that's for sure. I didn't plan out the hole drilling very well and had space issues so it looks a bit funny right now.

    LOL

I think I'm going to move the cc up in the chain, maybe after the assmaster. I pretty much use it to induce feedback and occilations, instead of delay. I also think I'm going to move the messdrive in the effects loop, and switch the pickle pie and the assmaster around since that assmaster pretty much ***** all over every thing. (In a good way. It's just loud, especially when you run anything after it.)

  18. Started in about 1982 with an Ibanez PT9 phaser and DOD FX25 Envelope filter. Along the way I had a EHX Screaming Tree and one of those round Jimi Hendrix fuzz things.

This go around is as follows...

I've got one more since that last shot, I'm getting one maybe two more this coming week and another in a few weeks... these things are like little crack boxes.

  20. Yeah, I didn't realize that it had gotten a little out of control until I went through the history with this thread. It's OK because I know that I can stop now.......

    OOOOH Shiny!!!!!:hyper:
