where did you get this clone kit?

It's not a kit. I have the schematic so I bought the parts and put it together.

I've been on an effects building kick. The Brassmaster is next and I have a Fuzz Face clone I've tweaked for better lowend on my breadboard. I'm going to add a blend and tonestack and see how it does with those editions.

So you have some experience with just a few pedals.

I'd always been a standard head/cab guy. Then took a 15 year break to raise a family and career. When getting back into playing I went the Rack Rig route and bounced through a bunch of different pre's and effects units... (of which I still think the basic BBE Bmax-T and Boss VF-1 effects was my favorite of the slew)

then Multi-Effects with a Line6 XTLive, then Line6 Pod X3...

then finally a NeoPak and basic pedal board...

Then made some more changes and realized I was over-thinking my needs, so as of yesterday my initial Gator pedal board is gone and i'm here...

I'm still pondering adding something like a Linden EQ or Flipster pedal for more of a vintage option, but that would require moving the tuner pedal to the tuner out on my NeoPak, which would be fine as I never need to tune mid-song or during a song.

I really liked it, and you can do a TON of sounds via the BUZZ (bass), PUNCH (mid) and CRUNCH (treble) knobs. The knobs don't start adding overdrive or distortion until usually after 12:00 on the knobs. Buzz knob is more of a fuzz, punch acts as more of a presence going into overdrive, and treble is more of a distortion. Between those 3 I could get a lot of sounds. Getting over-zealous with the knobs could easily result in feedback live... particularly the PUNCH and CRUNCH knobs.

I had both a PSA and PSA 1.1 (because I wanted the extra trim pot on front and headphone out) I heard no difference between them sound wise.

Out of curiosity, how do you use the two volume pedals and are the 25k or 250k?

They are both 25k and they are run in Parallel along with 2 fx chains each in parallel so I can fade different sounds in and stuff.

I've since sold one of the volume pedals I'll be posting a smaller setup in the next few weeks.

Some of these boards are beyond anything I've ever seen ... can and or do you guys use these things LIVE?


Always a P-bass straight into the amp guy, dug out my old original Big Muff one day at practice just for kicks. We were three piece and looking for some bass fill when the guitar soloed.

The Muff bass response was a little thin so I sold it and bought the VooDoo Bass and looking for an old school organ tone quickly added the Multi-Comp and Phase 90, that is when I dug out my old guitar pedal board I had made about ten years before and pressed it into service. The velcro on the front is to add pedals and hold them in place.

Looking for the right "Leslie" sweep to get the organ vibe I tried both the EBS UniChorus and the VooDoo Lab Micro Vibe the Vibe won, also the Pedal Power Plus was a nice addition using the SAG function on both the VooDoo Bass and the Micro Vibe.

The OctaBass replaced the chorus and I had hit the right combination ... The whole thing goes to gigs in an old aluminum camara case.

... This is my main board, when I gig and needed to be tuff and simple, nothing fancy, it's never failed

It seems I never kept my board very clean back then.
