Your string choice for an acoustic bass

Ot TI JF344 flats.

Wise choice. Or, a set of ghs precision flats in light gauge.

I feel that using strings that are flat wound they allow for smoother transitions between notes, which on an acoustic bass in my experience, sometimes don't sound that all the great. I use them on my Tanglewood and they sound deep and warm, especially sliding up the frets. Not sure what make they are called though!

I've got DR phosphor bronze on my Michael Kelly. Produces a real nice tone. Much better than what was originally on it.

I agree. Flats are easier to play without unwanted noise on an acoustic. Not just fingernoise but clack too. But rounds sound better, in my opinion. Flats take away all the acousticness.
