Your suggestions on best method to learn acoustic bass

I'm a self-taught acoustic guitarist for a dozen years. I'm buying an acoustic bass and would like to the basics and proper method from the get go. Could you recommend some books or cds or dvds I could use to learn proper technique, etc.?
