your thoughts about the most transparent 610 cab

I like the sound of my Ashdown ABM head but I don't want to be colored by the cab. I have tried the cheap Ashdown MAG410 and Kustom 410 bass cab. Bottom of the barrel... I know, (I really want a 6x10" cab) but that makes me wonder about the different options available of quality transparent bass cabs.
In your opinion, what would it be the most transparent (non colored) 6x10" bass cab?
Thanks

I agree know overall with what dincz and cnltb are getting at, but just want to add that I tried out an epifani ul 610 once, and was actually surprised how even and yes, transparent it was. More than I expected from trying other 610s. However, I agree, a 610 wouldn't be the first thing I would look at either if transparency is the keyword :D

Um.....

My first thought is that the most transparent 610 cab is probably not very transparent.

Exactly.

The most transparent 610 cab is actually a fEARful t3w 15/6/1 or a 1212/6/1, or one of the fEARless counterparts.

I know not a 610....

I agree that IME/IMHO, the 6x10 configuration is not ideal for reproducing a very flat, transparent signal. However, amongst the 6x10's I have used, the Glockenklang 6-Box is the most clear and articulate, while still being full and relatively balanced sounding. Of course, in terms of absolute transparency, many of my other cabs will definitely best it. But, in the context of a 6x10, the 6-Box does quite well.

I think the only 610's I've played have been SWR, Ampeg, and Mesa. Of those 3, I guess the SWR would be the "clearest" or "smoothest" sounding, but still, transparent or colorless it is not.

Transparent requires at least a 2-way and some good crossover design.

Threads like this make me realize that I really do not know crap about amps, cabs and sound in general even after 30 years of playing. I really enjoy this forum because I am always learning.
