Here's where I stand.
I have two basses: a late 90's MIM jazz and a Status Series 1000 bass circa 1985 made by Washburn with passive Status electronics.
My problem: the Status has a broken truss rod which I am saving-up to have repaired. This may take awhile however.
My question to you: I like the sound of the Status (which has J-type pickups) much better than the jazz. Should I swap out the jazz pickups for the Status pickups until I have the truss rod fixed?. The wiring is the same. However I am wondering if I also need to swap out the pots/capacitor to keep the Status sound the same? Mind you, I am no electrical engineer so that may be a dumb question (about the pots/capacitor).
Your thoughts? Many thanks my friends.
