your top 3 for 2004

I only bought/liked 3 2004 albums

Probot - Probot
CCBBB - The Big Eyeball in the Sky
Tom Waits - Real Gone

I was very disappointed with Monster Magnet's - Monolithic Baby... fantastic band, subpar album. They were trying to get on that "Rock N' Roll rebirth" train by sounding more stripped down. Bad move. A few good songs here and there, but a rather empty album.

Pain of Salvation - "Be"

Karmakanic - "Wheel of Life"

The Flower Kings - "Adam & Eve"

IQ - "Dark Matter"

Marillion - "Marbles"

Jeff Berlin - "Lumpy Jazz"

Neal Morse - "One"

Steve Lawson - "Grace and Gratitude"

Eccentric Orbit - "Attack of the Martians"

The Jelly Jam - "2"

There are others that I can't recall at the moment, but suffice to say that plenty of good music was released this year. :hyper:

I haven't bought too many CDs actually released this year, but I'm definitely liking these two:

Green Day - "American Idiot"
They Might Be Giants - "The Spine"

I also really dig the Maroon 5 album, though I don't yet own it and I think it came out before '04...I'm also considering buying albums by Los Lonely Boys and the Killers, but I can't judge them yet. Gotta catch up, maybe Xmas will help :ninja:

Hmmmm...I guess I would have to say:
1: Ministry-House of the Mole (if you squint real hard, you can see the accent ;)
2: Col. Les Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains-The Big Eyeball in the Sky
3: Rammstein- Reise, Reise (Kind of a guilty pleasure of mine...except I don't feel bad about it. :bassist:

I know, I know. They used to be my favorite band a couple years ago, and I've kind of out grown them a bit...but they still have a very special place in my heart ;) I've really started to get back into them with the release of the new cd (although I think Amerika is one of their weaker songs) and I REALLY hope they decide to tour over here in America. But ah well, I wouldn't want to derail the course of this thread, so I'll hush up. :hiding:
