Never been a big fan of Phil's solo work, but this sure made for a good funky tune. Leland Sklar does a great job with Alphonso Johnson's take on this song.

Umm...yeah......he can.

In the words of Victor Wooten (who has trouble doing what he says most of the time) Can't hold no groove if you ain't got no pocket...and this boy can groove too.
Albeit in a Jazz/Fusion fashion- but a groove still.

A few months ago I visited this website called lignedebasse.com where Hadrien used to post. The concept of the site is to have players from all around the world play their own bassline over a backing track.

I know Hadrien did at least three of them and two of them which were funk and let me assure you, he can play funk. His playing was busy as usual, but still it goes to show you that he can play stuff that isn't fusion.

Oh I agree he can play other stuff, but his solo disc is a fusion one. And I could see how some could take it that he's a one type of player.
