Youtube Finds Part III

I was just going through the history of this thread, watching some incredible videos. What's more amazing than the playing, though, is the fact that so many of the videos have been taken down due to copyright violations. Too bad for the copyright owners - they might have just lost some sales. These are all little 3 minute commercials for albums and dvds. Let's face it: YouTube succeeds because it does what MTV refuses to do - show the videos people want to see. MTV was successful as heck as an album sales promoter - imagine Cyndi Lauper's career if it wasn't for music videos! I bet YouTube also promotes album sales, video sales, and ticket sales. If I owned a corporation, I would love it if some guy with a PC did all my marketing and advertising for me, at his expense.
