I've just gotten started making instructional bass videos for my university's jazz studies program. After making the first one, in 1080p and 13 minutes, I tried to upload to youtube for the first time yesterday. The upload itself took several hours, then before I went to bed it started "processing". I woke up this morning, it was stuck at 95% on the processing scale, and it's been stuck there all day. I figure it's either stuck in a queue, or something went wrong and I need to try again. When i click on the URL, the video show up as "unavailable". Anybody have any experience with this? I just created the account yesterday afternoon and would like to get rolling but am unsure what's the best course of action.

I've had mine stick like that. I don't know why but just reload it. There is also little to no difference in quality even at full screen display between 720 and 1080 so, that'll save you some time. DIVX compression is working really well for me as far as getting the file smaller without loosing resolution.

Getting vids to look good on youtube is kind of a black art.

Last night, without shutting down the page that was stuck at 95% processing, I tried to reupload the same vid from a different window. After a couple of hours, it said the upload was 14% complete, so I went to bed. This morning when I got up, there is no record that I ever tried to upload anything in either window. This is very frustrating. And when I look for support, I find thousands of unanswered queries on the Google help forum with similar problems, never with any answers from Google tech support.

I assume the process must work for some people, but I don't know what to try next.

How big is that thing?

You may be dealing with some sort of packet loss issue depending on the ISP you have. If it was me, I'd go back to square 1, close everything down, rename the file and upload it all again.

actually, if it was me, I'd shrink that file down first. It must be huge or your pipe is small. I can get 100 maybe 150 megs worth of compressed AVI file uploaded to YT in an hour or so.

Once the file get fully uploaded, the actual precessing times aren't all that long initially. It'll show pretty quick then over time, they do whatever it is they do and the quality will tick up. You may get the lower resolutions in 10 or 15 minutes, then an hour later you'll see the 720 option pop up and even later the 1080.

There have been a couple of times when that happened to me, I tried to reload the file under the same name, everything seemed to go well, then I got a little message saying they rejected it because I already had that exact file on my space. GAAAA! @#$$%&^ sons -a ##$%^^!

That, is a very good looking video.

And for someone like me that loves the instrument but is pretty much clueless on the proper way to operate one, invaluable.

Thank you very much.
