Zoom B2 + DAW: need a D.I.?

Hi, newbie question here: I need to record some bass in a DAW setup. Unfortunately the two soundcards I have do not have instrument level inputs, so at least a D.I. is needed.
In these days I read about the Zoom B2, it seems a good unit for the price (small,many features, etc.), but I was not able to understand if I could just use it instead of a D.I. to go into my audio card, or if the D.I. is still needed.

the B2 has a built in DI...but I don't know what kind of inputs you're looking for...

the B2.1u has a DI, as well...but it also has a USB input that can be used on many DAW software...it also comes bundled with Cubase LE...

Thanks for your reply. I just need a di to enter my preamp, which has only mic type input. So if the simple B2 has that output feature, it would be fine for me. Looking at the output specs I'm still not sure though... they seem different from the ones of the B2.1u (besides the xlr vs normal connector difference I've noticed).

hmmm...you're right...

I thought the only differences were the expression pedal and the USB...seems like the DI isn't on the B2, either...

well, you know what that means? don't ya? B2.1u (.1u means "ONE for YOU"

Uhm, no, I was looking for something small (and cheap possibly) and this has features I do not need (pedal, usb connection). I'll have to look for something else, probably just a good d.i (which will cost like a B2, aargh!) and then I'll use the virtual amps plugin in my DAW.
Any other suggestion is welcome
